Windows Snake Malware Kernel Driver Comadmin
The following analytic identifies the comadmin.dat file written to disk, which is related to Snake Malware. From the report, Snakes installer drops the kernel driver and a custom DLL which is used to load the driver into a single AES encrypted file on disk. How To Implement
To successfully implement this search you need to be ingesting information on process that include the name of the process responsible for the changes from your endpoints into the
Endpoint datamodel in the
Filesystem node. In addition, confirm the latest CIM App 4.20 or higher is installed and the latest TA for the endpoint product.
Known False Positives
False positives may be present, filter as needed.
